On most mornings when I wake up, the first thing I see is Esther Tan.
It's probably not what you're imagining and I've only just noticed that while cleaning up my room. It's just that I have this really tall bookshelf, a half-step away from the place from which I spring up from my bed every morning, and propped up conveniently at eye level is this cjc yearbook. The one with esther tan on the back cover.
Interestingly, we might have someone whose name rhymes with the afore-mentioned to thank for the fact that her photo was on the yearbook. wink wink. But I digress. And what a random and uncalled for digression.
I apologise.
And on a totally related note, it might(not) interest (or bemuse) some to know that I have this habit of springing exaggeratedly from my bed each morning, perhaps in a manner unfitting for one who was a nano-moment ago soundly in la-la-land. I think it's something that's evolved within myself to forcefully get up.
I'm feeling a bit proud, cos my mom asked me to clean up my room and I did. And as my sisters might testify, it takes some nerve and occasion for me to get round to doing it. Wait! I actually recall the last time I cleaned up my room. In fact I think the first thing I did after that was ... to blog about it.
And on to more momentous things. Yesterday, along with the rest of my extended family, I met up with my two new cousins. Okay they're not exactly new, but it certainly feels that way. haven't seen them since 1999! The year Prince chose among the countless to indicate the levels of euphoria he'd intended to create by partying!
Well, they're certainly bigger than their years indicate. And they seem pretty mature too. And it was good seeing aunty Joan again. And the other cousins. We seem to be spending more and more time reminiscing about the past! Well it's a good habit anyways.
