1 hour and 40 minutes to book in ....

Well, what a week it's been! The last week has been throughly fun.... Even while in camp, believe it or not! We had watermanship for most of the recently-concluded week. And I have to say, despite being constantly wet and sun-baked, it really was kinda fun. Crossing the river, though tedious, kind of felt like going to the beach. You know that feeling when u were a kid and you put on a float and just drifted by the shore? Yeah it was that except we had a lifejacket and it was the murai reservoir. Hmm.

And then we had Platoon as a Beach Head Force on friday. Really cool. Basically we went up to seletar camp, rode assault boats (assault boats!!) and then landed on one of those seletar islands... and then secured the island. Was really kinda cool.

Went out with D and elle for a movie... The Host. The two of them VIOLENTLY OBJECTED to watching the movie but in the end I managed to convince them. And BOY did I love the movie! It's really good, not what I expected it to be... THought it would be your normal Korean horror movie but in the end it wasn't horror at all. You just have to watch it, highly recommended by me! Went bowling after that... haha. Gotta admit though, the new 'visualisation techniques' we tried out was really effective, esp for one of us.

COuldn't go out for dinner with the rest of the class cos it was aunty theresa's birthday. Caught up with everyone else, and spent a good deal with Lyon and Vanna in the room, my two toddler cousins. What a handful! Kept insisting on me lifting them up and down bungee-style until my arms got really shack. And boy can that girl chatter! Really smart for a 4 year old girl.

Woke up at 2 today, went out for Dota with the council guys. Kept stealing kills using that Spectre guy. Gughan wasn't very impressed and would start wailing in his trademark style whenever I stole his kills. hahaha.

Well its time to go. And the drog just scored a stunner against pool. And who else but Tiger Woods was in the stands applauding. There for the Ryder Cup apparently.

Bad move. Should have went to Manchester.

A few burning questions ...

1. How in the blue hell did paul twohill last so long on Singapore idol? Are Singaporean girls deaf and blind?

2. Don't they realise that Acquaintance-ster would be a more apt name?

3. Why are all the 'pundits' on ESPN English/Caucasian? How come nobody ever agrees with me about how good Shebby Singh is? And somebody please tell me why McMahon is there week in week out?

4. What does anybody see in Jamie Carragher? How come they don't see that he's too much of a liability, even for Liverpool? Haven't they learnt from Calamity James? At least he was talented. Carragher isn't. And how did he ever get to play a World Cup game for England. I can rattle off at least 3 defenders who are hands down better and younger than him, and didn't get to play at the WC. Wes Brown, Michael Dawson, Paul Konchesky, Wayne Bridge, Stuart Young, Jon Woodgate, Anton Ferdinand, and did I say 3?

5. Why do they even bother? Why don't they just, truthfully and for matters of convenience, call them L'Arsenal and call it Le Stade de Emirates? I challenge any of you to name an English first team Arsenal player. And I do that because I know that there aren't any. And please don't say Theo Walcott or I'll smack you in the mouth. Remember when Sol Campbell said that he was leaving Arsenal to 'play in a foreign club' and in the end only went to Portsmouth? Guess What. He actually was truthful to his word.

6. Why does LBW (Leg Before Wicket) actually apply to the whole of your body?

7. Why do all team sports have an odd number of players? Soccer has 11, Basketball has 5, Rugby Union has 15, Rugby League has 13, Hockey 11, etc.

8. Why do people treasure virginity so much? Like someone asked, Would you dine in a restaurant with a chef that's never cooked before?

and crucially ...

9. Do any of you have the answers to the above?

You know, when you really want something but can't explain why, is that just you being irrational or is that something what you really, achingly want? Is one meant to live a free life pursuing one's whims and hopes or were we given the capacity to think and rationalise for a reason?

Shag. Shack. However you want to spell it, I feel shack. Shack cannot think! Are you shack, soldier? Is shack even a word, soldier?

The Fox-throat training schedule is just too packed. We had like a 10-click Endurance run (to be completed in under an hour), followed immediately by outfield. To make things worse some glorious cock-up resulted in us running at least 500 m more. May not seem like a lot but trust me, it was! AND they made us stayover that night at the training ground, at Lower Mandai. One-third alert, which means one-third of us have to be on full alert at any given time between dusk and dawn, made things worse. You ask me to choose between King Koil and hard ground, guess which one wins all the time. I think that's one place where man improved upon what Mommy Nature gave us.

Well for one day, one day at least Foxtrot Company had the feel of a chalet. This morning they let us wake at, get this, 0730. Seven-thumping-thirty! That's a full two hours later than fox-throat company standard! When I evoke the chalet concept I meant waking up in a strange place late in the morning with a group of friends. not to be confused with orgy (Def: A revel involving unrestrained indulgence, especially sexual activity).

Well that was actually because we had a Live Firing session at the Range yesterday. Two buzz-phrases. 4 Fingers eye relief! and Eh cb don't drag your boots! And MAN I hate night-shoots! The heat and humidity gets to you, makes your number four stick to your skin, and not dry off. And that just makes you all the more susceptible to mosquitoes. Needless to say I got bitten quite a bit.

And we've got a new toy. He's called Tickle me elmy. Cm-per-neh!

If anyone who reads this suddenly makes some deduction building upon the fact that this post revolves solely around the Army, good for you. Sometimes I really wonder the whole concept of NS violates any human rights principles. It almost compelled me to borrow that book with HUMAN RIGHTS emblazoned across its cover at the library today. But in the end I decided not to. Why?

Shack, too Shack.

Foxtrot Company

Well maybe ASLC isn't that bad in the end. Like Sewei says .. But the training schedule really pisses me off. Have quite a few weekend confinements... Would gladly swap my offs-in-lieu for these confinements. Dang. The training seems tough, but at least its progressive. That's like the SAF's buzzword. gah.

But I really want to know how I'm supposed to survive Ex Warrior. NINE DAYS. Hmm.

Somebody take me out!!
