This week in brief(s)

Monday

First day of school as a true blue cjc student. Was late on the first day.. lol. I slept at like 2 am the last night, woke up late... Reached the auditorium, gathered in my og. Bought my uniform, maybe one size too big. Played the same games, and in accordance with my past experience with og, felt really crappy. Although there was a fann wong lookalike in my og.. Yeah, talked to Bryan and cedric for most parts... can't really remember what happened, the first day was rather uneventful. fast forward to tuesday.

Tuesday

I was a little buzzy, cos class allocation would come out today. Was hoping to get into the same class as before. As it turns out, all of us got into the same class, 1T06, except wing, jasmine and sista joe. Joe was okay with it, cos he was going to withdraw anyway to go Temasek poly and do visual communications or something. Wing and jasmine were sad, and sent in an appeal straightaway. Jasmine was devastated... and from what I heard, she took it really badly.

We had a few activities as a class. The 'newcomers' ( technically we were all newcomers to the class, but... ) were Chongying, I-hui, Laura from former 1T09, Binghui from 1T07, and grace bong from another class. I kinda got to know and liked I hui Laura and Bing... they are really nice people! Laura is really unrestrained and spontaneous.. and doesn't really care what others think of her. =) Her mannerisms sooooo remind me of Spenser! :D

Wednesday

Had Games in the morning! :D First up was pushball.. lost to 1T17, mat's ching's cedric's and eddie's class. When Eddie found out that we would be playing each other, he was like 'Eh, Gabs, I broke your collarbone once, I can break it again!'. Luckily, Eddie didn't get too close to me. We managed to beat two other classes though, in fact we dominated them. We scored one against another team, and then just pushed the ball to their end by brute force ( when you have ppl like bing on your team, not too difficult ) and we just stayed there for like... minutes. :P

After that we had lunch break and went for Dragon Boating. This time was so fun, compared to the first. The instructors were more fun, and their priorities seemed to be more focussed on going alongside other boats to splash them rather then to row us ragged. Goody. After many confraontations with T17, boths boats got thoroughly soaked, tired, and baled. There seemed to be some routine of Row, Splash, Bale, Repeat. heh, Battle of Kallang Basin. Since both sides weren't getting anywhere, we decided to have a ceasefire, an alliance. So we spent the next half hour coordinating and sandwiching innocent, unsuspecting boats and then simultaneously attacking them from both sides. haha, each boat was totally helpless and clueless. Then all the boats had a race, and after having a weee headstart, our class managed to come in second. Not bad.

The we adjourned to the park nearby and had team-building games. There was this game where there was an apple suspended and we had to form a sort of tower to hoist people up to take bites out of the apple. Spent 15 minutes hoisting people on my shoulders and staying there. Waaah, had major backache later. After a few more games, we got up the bus and back to school. Took a bath, went home tired but satisfied.

Thursday

Sigh, got stuck with doing the skit for Otium family for finale night again. Sigh, I didn't like the way it was 'dumped' on us too. Spent the whole day at introductory lectures. Haha, it was the first history lecture and Narindar was screaming at us for coming in late and even made people sit at her feet and made some leave the LT. tsktsk. And she said that she was 'very nice' for the first three months, and that her 'true colours' would show from now on. Oh dear.

Went home and prepared the script for the skit. Sigh, was scurrying like a mouse, trying to think of things we could perform, etc. Dhanesh peter and khai provided a lot of ideas, and of cuz our facil gerard was eager to help. In the end, after much scrambling, I finally finished the script with a lotta help from dhanesh peter and khai. Went to sleep at 1.30 am.

Friday

Decided to sleep in a little bit. Got called up by Mary Goh at 8 am. Dredged myself up form the bed and to school. Went up to class, and was immediately barraged, swamped by ppl asking me about the skit and all. Spent the rest of the day with peter and dhanesh assigning roles, conferencing, having mini rehearsals, changing plans, asking other classes to help in the skit... Finally we managed to get 5 ppl from T17 including mat eddie and ching to help us, and loo from t30. We all were damn stressed before the real thing, but fortunately, when our turn came, everything kinda turned out fine. Although there was one moment of real panic. We were supposed to stack tables on top of each other to simulate a shelf, but the tables backstage couldn't stack as the legs were all pointing outwards. So we were blustering around for while, but soon someone had the sense to use 4 tables to prop up one table.

the skit

It was about this show where teachers would be probed by a panel of judges to determine who was the 'ideal teacher'. yea, sounds a bit lame. But we managed to spoof a lotta things successfully, i hope. From American Idol, to survivor, to the jennifer aniston heineken ad, to american pie, to our maths teacher mr yee, to the famous isaac lim. I played something along the lines of Simon cowell , while dhanesh was paul abdullah and reina was that randy jackson guy. On stage i was terribly insecure lah, i was thinking oh shit, we suck, we suck, i suck! but, it looks like everyything turned out okay after all.

I thought the first performance was g-g-great. They were dancing along to "You're the one that I want" from Grease. The guys were dressed up as girls and vice versa. There was this guy in a grey skirt who was soooooo feminine! Even more so then some girls i've seen! It was so freaky! But the dancing was damn good, and it was super funny. Especially the way this short girl was like trying to fondle this guy's butt.... hahaha.

Right, when it came down to giving away prizes for the finale night.. I was convinced that we were not going to win anything. Prize after prize for Most enthusiastic family, best dressed, best effort, best whatever were given out, and with every passing one i was getting more resigned. It turned out that we won Best Performance for finale night. I was so enthralled, i jumped up and down, and went up with peter dhanesh khai and gerard our facil. On hindsight, I was damned insensitive, cos I shouldn't have acted the way I did. Should have asked the T17 guys, esp eddie, to come up too... argh. But.. I just felt at that point that along with Dhanesh peter and khai, we put in the most effort, and deserved the ... 'glory'? But I forgot about the efforts of others... at that moment, i thought it was mine. Damned conceited fool.

And I just sat and watched and allowed it to happen. the irony of it all...

Sigh. I am such a fool ... getting pricked by the thorn of the rose. No, in fact, I wasn't pricked, I pressed my thumb into the thorn, with my own energy, my own conscious effort. Why do I have to behave like that?

Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore by REO Speedwagon

I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show

I tell myself that I can't hold out forever
I say there is no reason for my fear
'Cause I feel so secure when we're together
You give my life direction, you make everything so clear

And even as I wander I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might

And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever

'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door, baby,
I can't fight this feeling anymore

My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
I been running around in circles in my mind
And it always seems that I'm following you, girl
'Cause you take me to the places that alone I'd never find

And even as I wander I'm keeping you sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might

And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door, baby,
I can't fight this feeling anymore
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore

Should I fight this feeling anymore?

posting about Posting

Hmm.. Posting results. Was saying to Reina and Josh just yesterday, " Hmm. Wonder where I will be posted to. " Sooo, as expected, I woke up at 1 pm =D and checked my posting. Wow, I actually remembered the url to check out the postings.. not bad. Yeah, so me posted to CJC. Looks like most of the ccu wankers stayed where they were, except for xz who went to AJC with Aston, and wq who defected from CCP to GMD. :)

About the class 1T08... I guess you could say the nucleus of the class is staying.. although I'm not too sure about that. Those leaving: Josh , Jocelyn, Ngiam, Fifi, Tselert, Thomas, xiaoling, geri. I'll miss them, sniff. Joe tan, definitely one of the better people I've met in cjc. lol, that says quite a bit. Totally contrasts to (my) views of acs boys.. :P I guess he kinda taught me how to play pool.. And I won't disappoint you! :D Jocelyn, the band girl with the sweet smile, as wing said. Wasn't very close to her, but I'll miss her anyways. Ngiam and fifi, the sunshine gals of the class lol. Always smiling.... And the way they laugh and stamp their feet on the floor is hilarious... I'll miss my two 'daughters' .. haha. Tselert, a very deep thinker, and we've had some interesting conversations... Miss ya too. Soonkiat! The quiet person of the class, but I wish you'd stay in cjc... miss you! Xiaoling, the dream girl who loves the number 71! Your uncompromising honesty has been refreshing, and I really admire you for that. Hope you enjoy yourself in sajc, and keep on netballing! Geri! haha, the girl-next-desk. Its been barely 3 months, and i think you've been great! Shh.. don't tell anyone my secret ambition.. ;)

Yeah, two more whom I still dunno where they are going... Peter and May. Peter, yap, petak.. hahah its been wunderbar knowing you for 4 years 3 months.. really wouldn't mind another 2 years together! :D May, stop complaining! :D You've really brightened up the class, and once again, sorry about the mess the class(me inclusive :P ) made at your house. :D Hope you get to AC, DOT! but if you stay at cjc, good too! :D

Sigh. But I should really count my blessings. One after one, ppl who really matter to me are appealing back to cjc after first deciding to go elsewhere. Although I don't know whether it's a god choice for them.. Well, I have this to say. Better the familiar evil than the unknown one. Lol! of course, Mathew Yeo decided to stay in cjc after putting njc as first choice in his jae form. Good on ya! Again, dont know if its a smart choice, but anyways, its too late to do anything now! hahaha. So bad. Joy, Inami, Michelle decided to appeal back to cjc before the term ended.. haha, those three are some great people! I'm glad that they are staying. :D And looks like Choy, Ching, Eddie, Dicky, Cedric, bryan wong are staying... All righty, way to go, my sji cronies! :D

On a lighter note, somewhat...

Was watching the Asian 9-ball pool tour today... The finals was Chao something ( cant remember the name) from Hongkong against Efren reyes from philipines. They were both former world champions, so it was a real good match. Chao was leading 9-5 until Efren Reyes, the Magician, won 6 racks in a row to win the finals! It was amazing okay, some of the shots he played. And it isnt as if Chao is lousy or anything, couldnt be farther from the truth. Its just that Reyes played so damn well... He even managed a golden break lol. Seeing the pros do it on the world stage.. just makes me feel so inspired... must play pool more. =D Geez, hope my mom doesnt see this.. she's nagging me to stop spending so much money... :S

"Two wrongs don't make a right, but three left turns DO make a right."

Oh dear. It's been quite a while since I've last updated ... gosh. Looks like I've really forgotten about this little bugger here eh?

Well, since the release of results, it's been pretty smooth-sailing. The intensity level of lessons and homework has really scaled down. And that can't be helped when practically half the class is absent everyday.. lol. In the last two weeks, no one, really, has looked like in the mood for serious study and all, even some of the teachers. So everyday after school my classmates and I have been either roaming the streets or going over to someone's house or bowling at Kimseng. =)

Oh some things worth mentioning.... I think almost two-thirds of the class is staying. Recently Inami, Michelle and Joy made their decisions to stay after at first committing themselves to another JC. Good on ya! But we are sure to lose some of us, namely Geri, Joscelin, Thomas (aka soonkiat), and a few others who may or may not stay. On the whole I would say the Nucleus of the class is staying, and that is very heartwarming. It isn't such a bad prospect, spending the next two years with this bunch of people. =) Well, most of them, anyway.

We wrote a letter in to Brother Paul requesting for us to stay as a class. Amy Lee wanted us to write it addressed to 'whom it may concern' ( i.e. HER ) ... but we had this strange suspicion that she was going to use it against us in future... So we addressed it to one person specifically. lol. However, I was a bit upset at how we wrote the letter. It was basically me dhanesh khai and EILEEN writing and helping to write it. Furthermore, when it was time to get down and actually plan the contents of the letter as a class, some of them, not all, were distracted. I mean, c'mon, after making all those passionate noises about wanting to stay as a class and all that bullshit, you can't even silence yourselves and contribute to one lousy, crummy letter?

Yeah, so in the end, with loads of help from Eileen, who isn't even from our class, we managed to get it done, and sent it in to Brother Paul. The funny thing was that while we handed it in and were talking to him, Dhanesh's phone started ringing. Hahaha.

Yeah we went bowling quite a few times recently... My highest score was 119. =) THere was once Josh was bowling, and the ball was going down the lane pretty straight and smooth and looked like a strike or at least a good shot. ( An extremely rare occurence for Josh ) And guess what happened? The shutter for SOME reason suddenly came down and stopped the ball dead in his tracks. We were all laughing like Hyenas, and the sight of Josh jumping around and screaming in disbelief could not have helped it either. The shutter finally lifted, and after a few seconds of spinning on the spot, the ball simply rolled off the lane and into the gutter. Hahaha. And because of that little shenanigan he got the lowest score of the round. :P

Looks like the Dhisease is spreading to quite a few people ... Looks like there ain't no cure for it.

OH and Guess what people? I finally got a HANDPHONE!!! Muahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy lol finally, after so many years of seeing EVERYONE around get one... A Nokia 6610 somemore.. lol. I was expecting some crummy out-of-date model... But this would really do fine. :D If u want my number go ask me personally.
