Went for youth mass yesterday, at St. Anthony's church in woodlands with a few of my cathecism classmates. The mass was kinda boring for a youth mass though. expected it to be more lively and all. met an old classmate there.
Had a haircut today. It was kind emotional. Everytime a part of me is taken away I feel pain. That's why the haircut hurt so much. :'(
May cut down on my blogging henceforth.
1) school term starting. Nothing much interesting happens in the school term anyway, so why bother blogging everyday
2) probably going to be quite busy... to make up for 1 and a half years of slacking.
Shoutouts are still out. Maybe we should give a little donation to Cris Klink? He seems to have difficulty maintaining shoutouts. (=
I feel very.. Apprehensive about going back to school. Not sure what I am going to be hit with. =(
Whatever it is, it sure won't be much good. sigh, if I am to achieve my targets for the O's, there is going to be a lot of hard work for the next 4 months. Gosh. 4 months left only. 11 weeks to prelims. argh. Chinese O level Oral this week.
Somebody save me... ...

Inspired by my friend Daryl, I have 'made' a few movies. There is this site advertising for an Indian soft drink, and they allow you to take clips of their ads and add your own subtitles. Since it is in Hindi ( I think ) and most of you do not understand Hindi, the subtitles should provide my interpretation of that ad. =)
Didn't blog yesterday as I was too tired. Left home at 6.30am for Church a one-day camp, and came home at around 9pm. I was really tired throughout the camp as I had only slept for a 'princely' two hours in the morning. ( Finally fell asleep at around 4 am and woke at 6) Got a cup of coffee on the way to church. Helped to keep me awake a little. A bus was chartered to ferry( almost used fetched ;p ) us to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Prayer and Retreat House. That's the one that school normally uses for RME retreats.
We had a few games. Since there were 60 of us, ( and since some of us do not know some of us that well) we had to have some funny games, basically to remember each others names. -sheesh- Sometimes I wonder... Three and a half years and we can't remember each others' names? Talk about bo-chap. We were divided into 6 groups. AGAIN my group had much fewer peeps than other groups. Has been happening to me too many times. Maybe there is something wrong with me?
Played captain's ball. ( I was captain of my team. ouchies... x-) ) Normally when I play these kind of games I get all ready and raring. But I felt rather sluggish. Maybe because of the lack of sleep? Yea, we lost 3-2. We were actually 3-0 down.
We had another activity after that. Each group were asked to elect a leader, and my grp ganged up on me. :( But turns out we were playing this game where the leader would lead everyone around in a line, while they had blindfolds on. =D Had a little fun . Tricked them once into believing they were crossing a drain where in fact there wasn't. HAHA! I remember telling them "c'mon, big steps, big steps or you'll fall in!" Ha! And I collaborated with Eugene, a leader of another grp, got our two teams to line up next to each other, still blindfolded. We told them to reach out and give the person next to them a big hug!!! lol! And since my team had fewer peeps than the other, the two or three guys at the end of the line of the other grp were kinda flapping their arms trying to reach the non-existent person. That sight was quite funny. =D
After that we played a friendly game of soccer. At this point I was just running, noone was near me; Suddenly my ankle gave way under me, I hobbled one step, and fell to the ground. Sprained my ankle. I get that exact injury all the time. I think I must have landed on an uneven patch of ground and twisted the ol' bugger.
Some people came to my aid. Laura, Claire, Shaun. Stupid bugger Shaun( not slack Sim) was standing there making stupid comments. Had my ankle been okay, I would have been kicking his ass all over the retreat house. ;) Put some ice to it until it all of the ice melted. What can I say? Even the ice says I'm hot. :P
Sigh. A bit pissed with myself. With the benefit of hindsight, I could have seen the injury coming.
1) I get it all the time, especially when I am wearing shoes with a high base. ( I was wearing a cross-trainer which was elevated about one inch. Heyheyhey.. dont laugh okay.. everyone wears that )
2) I need a lot of sleep. Whenever I am sleep-deprived, I tend to have mental lapses and tend to have little accidents.
3) Was feeling a little 'off' that day. A little sluggish, a little off-balance, physical coordination a bit awry.
Yup.
So had to hobble up to the MPR ( multi purpose room) where we had most of our sessions. While everyone sat cross-legged on the floor.... Not only was I to sit on a chair, I could even stretch my sprained leg out onto another chair. =D Yea, put a little no-swell gel ( hey, that rhymes) which stunk up the room a little. Even had my lunch there. Shaun brought it up there for me. So kind.. so at that time I crossed out " Kick Shaun's ass" out of my list of Things to do once ankle heals. =D
Had Mass. Before mass had a myriad of activities. Shall not elaborate. Mass started at 7pm. We were supposed to be released at 7.30. You bet it ran overtime. It doesn't help when you have Fr peter " longwinded" koh serving mass.
yah, took the bus back to church, and hobbled to the front to ask the driver to drop me off at Yishun MRT. Turns out more than half of us in the bus got off there. So I risk Life, but mostly Limb, to hobble to the front of the bus when some other able-bodied person was going to do it sooner or later. :(
Hobbled up onto the train, and then from AMK mrt station to my house. Strange, the pain started to get worse around 8 pm. When I got home it hurt more than it did at the retreat house. Hmmm. Holy Ground? =O
Reflecting on yesterday, I feel a bit ambivalent. I feel grateful, yet a bit disappointed. Grateful, for people that helped me. Jeremy, Joanne, Michael, Laura, Claire, Shaun, among others. So many ppl came up to me and asked out of concern, 'Hows ya ankle? ' and all. Even some people who hardly talk to me normally. But then, I am a bit disappointed, with myself and others, that it is such that only when I am injured that people approach me for small talk.
Beginning to see some really swell people in my cathecism class, even in some that I used to think were assholes. haha, bet quite a few ppl used to think of me ( or maybe STILL think of me) that way. Can't be helped. I don't open up to strangers easily, especially when not in presence of Friends. Was very quiet and anti-social last time. Now everyone is starting to open up, but we will part in less than a month. Sigh. C'est a vida e (or something like that). That's the way Life is. Time and tide wait for no man. Carpe Diem. =)
Today
Supposed to wake up at around 8 am to go to the Chinese Sinseh. Apparently he is quite good. My sis goes there whenver she sprains her ankle or knee. But in the end only woke up at 2 pm. heehee. yea, I know I slept 14 hours, but it isn't that unusual for me. Taking into account that I only slept 2 hours yesterday; (14+2) /2 = 8 Hours. 8 hours a day over two days... that ain't too slothy?
Hobbled downstairs and into a taxi. Hobbled from the taxi to the 'clinic'. Whoa. the guy was good. He kinda massaged the area, then grasped my ankle and pulled it in different directions. Could feel ( and hear) my ligaments stretching and translocating. whoa. After about 5 mins my ankle felt soooo much better. He kept bending my ankle and asking whether it was pain. haha. The thing is, whenver he asked whether it was pain, it WAS pain. Like as if he actually knew. No point in asking me then. So whenever he went 'tong4 ma1 ? ' (mandarin) I was thinking, oh no, Here comes the pain. ;) At one point he put some funny device onto my knee. He put it on, and I could feel the muscles and nerves pulsing throughout my leg. Then magically my ankle started moving. =) Whoa. If only I could control other body parts to move on command like that! =D
When I left the clinic, I wasn't hobbling as much as I did before I reached the clinic. Ankle feels much better now.

CCU bbq @ dairy farm
Yeah, had a great time @ the bbq. I was to bring cookies for 'dessert'. So i woke up at 10 in the morning to help my mother bake some. I broke the spoon that was supposed to scoop up the cookie dough and load it onto the baking tray. Haha. The lever mechanism to unload the dough was kinda jammed, so I just pressed it real hard, and something snapped. ooops. So had to use a slightly bigger one. So some of the cookies were bigger than the others. =D I don't htink anyone noticed though, the bbq area was so dark. heehee.
Met Gerard, Daren, Chun xiang, Dhanesh, Pravin, Aston, Gaius, Xiangzheng, Daryl and the half-hour late Mathew.
at cck mrt. Took bus 67 ( not 69 ) to Ben's house. Since I was the only one who knew where to stop, me and the guys sitting near the back of the bus tried to alight without notifying the guys in front. We almost succeeded, but in the end I coughed loudly in their direction. They saw us alighting, and scampered off the bus. =)
Ben's house looks like some kind of chalet. I half-expected to see cows roaming around, but never mind me. We played soccer at a field near Ben's house. I scored a goal somewhere near the beginning. It was kinda cool. I got the ball in defence, dribbled all the way and shot past Mathew!! haha! take that for making me wait half an hour! Of course, after that I didn't score any. People like Cheanxiu and this former SJI guy joined the other team. ( That guy was taller than me, and ran like a bloody camel! No one could keep up with him... ). Chun xiang fell on a patch of sand and scraped his elbow quite badly. It was so funny seeing Daryl and Mathew missing chance after chance. hehehe. But alas, Mathew finally scored. Against me. :'( And daryl finally scored against Gerard.
The bbq went okay. There was a little too much food though. Terence had to 'Chew' ( pardon the pun =P ) 19 chicken wings 'cos nobody else wanted to. There were two bbq pits, one handled by Gaius, xz, and yuying. The other by me, yw, mat, chun xiang and later Terence. The other side got their fire burning first, but as the night wore on, I think ours got better. ;) Thanks to our incessant fanning of the coals. ;) We finally saw the end result of yw's gym sessions. haha. But there were a few mishaps though. I bit into a half-cooked piece of satay. haha. had to recook that whole batch of satay. Actually the raw satay tasted quite nice... kinda soft and sweet. mmmmm......
We ran out of drinks after a while. Thanks to those group of buggers sitting down, joking and guzzling down the drinks while the rest of us were slaving over the hot charcoal. :( A bit disappointed in the lack of.... responsibility by some people. Daryl is such a poor thing. I heard he spent a lot of effort making the satay and gravy, but in the end no one touched the gravy. It looked as if he spent a lot of time and effort on it. Thanks daryl!! ;)
Anyway, kudos to weiqi for organising this whole thing. Many thanks to Ben for letting us use his estate. ( whoa, sounds like he owns the thing eh? ). Thanks to all who bothered to bring stuff for the bbq. Thanks to all who helped to finish all the leftover stuff. Thanks to those who slaved over the bbq while others were slacking. and finally, thanks to mathew for letting me score a goal past him ;)
The light at the end of the tunnel might just be an oncoming train.~

As I prophesised in the previous post, I did go down to Cine, I did run, and I did play street soccer. But I didnt really count on spraining my ankle. nothing much, just a little sprain. It's more irritating than pain. had to hobble uncomfortably on the journey home.
Very appreciative of the responses to my cries of 'bite me'. Alas, I did not mean it literally. Had to explain quite a bit to the doctor. =D I plan to get my hair cut today, cos my hair's kinda long and it's starting to irritate me. Yes, I know my hair is not that long, but I like to keep it short.
There is a recently-opened outlet of Seoul Garden situated near my house. Actually I prefer Breeks, which is right next to Seoul Garden. They have this sort of Seoul garden 'fastfood' outlet within the Seoul garden outlet. Decided to try their stuff for Lunch. It's not bad, the burgers have an interesting 'asian' feel to it. The waffle fries are chock-full of potato, unlike the fries from places like Macs which sometimes leads you to forget that its atually made of potatoes. They even gave a complimentary bottle of Qoo ( not that i care much for it ). However, my only grouse is that its supposed to be a fastfood outlet. However, I had to wait close to 15 mins for my food. :l When I ordered my burger, the meat patty was actually still in the freezer! So much for fast food. I was a bit impatient so I actually went away to take a seat, and when I returned the lady at the counter looked so sheepish. hehe!
Did a sort of personality test today. Something about how you personality and character affects you Aura. haha. Found out that it really is bullshit. Not accurate at all.

Rather productive day, today was. Did History notes on Peacekeeping, did a bit of other homework, etc. It may not seem impressive, but with me, it is. During Holidays, I normally keep everything to the last few days. So it's an achievement.
Tomorrow will be quiet action-packed. Going down to Cine to play LAN with the guys, then going to school to Run ;D After that gonna stay behind to play street soccer. If there is a more fun way to lose weight than street soccer, pray tell 'cos I probably won't find anything else. ;P Well, If I were of a certain age there would be one activity that pops straight to mind but since I am not, never mind then. =D
*yawn* gotta go sleep early today. Oh, and who all who didn't bite me as instructed in my previous post, well.... Bite me.

Today was a very practical day. We had bio practical first thing in the morning. I hate drawing all those specimens, I'm really bad at it. The practical required a kiwifruit, so once i was done with it, i ate it. :P Hey, I was hungry ! We had Chemistry practical after recess. I kinda burned my finger and thumb a little after I carelessly picked up a heated test tube with my fingers. I held it for at least one full second before i realised it was hot and let go of it. Had to put my finger under running water for quite a while. And of course, the redneck came back to school today. He was kinda overwhelmed by the new physics topic, Atomic Physics. Had to do a fair bit of explaining.
Once the chem practical ended, I headed down to the street soccer court to play street soccer. Me, max, noel and gcx formed a team against 4 others from 410, with Brian switching teams here and there. :) Managed to score two goals, then had to go run. Was running halfway when it started to pour. Finished the Bio practical worksheet while waiting for the rain to stop. After that I played a little one-on-one with Jackson. Was very careful not to slip on the slippery concrete floor. Hey, today is friday the 13th! You can never be too careful! =D
Bluffed someone, who was really disgusted and grossed out, that my toenails had come off because of the soccer i played today. Haha, i love grossing ppl out.
Playing LAN on monday with gaius and gang! can't wait, fingers itching already! =)

Just the way you are by Billy Joel
Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are
Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care
I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.
I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.
I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.
Man, this song is real good. I am not one for love songs, but billy joel is a genius. These words are the perfect way to express your love and affection for someone. Download the song, you won't be disappointed!
On a more meaningful note, Gabriel would like to welcome fallen cumrade Mathew Yeo back to the classroom, from his epic crusade against Aedes mosquitoes. ~ It's not about how you fall, but about how you get back up~

The sillier things
I realised that as I get older, I do more and more silly things. Making up silly poems, doing silly actions with gerard, engaging in silly ccu-speak with gaius, wanky and all, posting silly posts on silly blogs... the silly list goes sillily( is that a word? ) on and on and on.
But It's Fun!
If I had a penny ( since we don't have pennies in singapore, I'd just have to go to the money changer guy) for every silly thing I did, I'd need a really big warehouse to store all of them.
Ain't that silly?

Today was a nice mix of boring [ chance to catch up on sleep ] and exciting [ so that u dont fall asleep ] . Came to school at 7.45 am, went up to class and played a few rounds of connect 4 with daryl. Kinda lost a little of my touch. We trooped down to the PAC for mass-English lesson. The various english teachers came and discussed the papers with us, highlighting the major mistakes made. That brother mike ar, forever picking out ppl and making fun of them. After that Malcolm wong and a host of other ss teachers did the same for our ss papers. Still quite confused and clueless for ss. Notice that Fam didn't even leave her seat to talk all this while.
During recess the bloody queues were so fricking long, so me and gaius decided to go to Esso. Got a pastry puff, and walked back to school. The lessons after recess were useless. Why? Practically noone was listening, and ppl were getting used to the idea of afternoon siestas. Why not? After a heavy meal, sitting on comfy seats, with aircon, Who could resist? Me Gaius and Kong ended up playing Hangman, with gcx and jonny butting in once in a while.
After school the 'jalan' ppl went down to Orchard. To lido for the bloody free refills. I tell you, sji boys and free refills do not make for a beautiful scene. Some wanted to find Nemo, some wanted to jalan, i just wanted to sleep. So many ppl from ijtp there, so naturally met someone there, and a few financial transactions took place. =) ( Ben, not me. :P )
Walked to Somerset. Along the way, chris brought us to meet his 'friend' sm. So took MRT home with garet and chun. Supposed to do ss homework. Couldn't be bothered. Looking forward to tmr, can challenge daryl to some more connect 4 ! :P

WAHOOO!
OVER
If you do not already know, today was `ze O levels Mother tongue paper. And boy am I glad it's OVER! Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over Over OVER
Thankfully the paper wasn't that hard. Paper 1 was so-so, Paper 2 was mostly easy except for the hanzi. ( where I got 4 wrong out of 5 ). I think I will do quite well. for my standard. I am confident of at least a B3. =P
The Invigilator looked as if he was dressed to go to the Kopitiam. I was startled by the reality that there were Teachers dressed more slack than Heng. Anyway, won't be seeing him for too long anymore!
Despite the tense setting, a few amusing things happened during the paper. Zenas, as usual, brought his Fengyou ( medicated oil) and applied copious amounts of it onto his temples. He somehow managed to splash some onto daryl's paper, who was sitting behind him. I gave Zenas a 5.8 . The look on Daryl's face was priceless, not so much of anger, but of resignation. And since I was sitting next to da-one-and-only, my nostrils ( or are they nares? ) were like, saturated with his fengyou. In between papers, Gaius got up to his usual act of changing the subject written on the board ( Chinese Language Paper 2 became Paper 3). He normally goes much further then that, but he probably realised that The O levels demanded a certain decorum. ;) Towards the end of Paper 2, SpenSerOng went a bit cuckoo. He placed his hands over his ears and began muttering in a low voice. And since the classroom was sooo quiet, everyone could hear what he was saying. The Invigilator had to 'shhhh' him twice before he stopped.
After the paper, I went home and got changed, and joined the guys for some Battlefield at Odyssey. It was kinda fun, and being a Scout is especially fun! Get to frag ppl ( and some bots too ;p) from far without them knowing what hit them. ( Perhaps at that split second they did realise that it was a bullet that hit them, but you know what i mean. ) Me and gerard had a bit of fun running people over in the Humvee. :P The fun thing about battlefield is that it is uber-realistic, and you get to operate loads of things, from airplanes to aircraft carriers to machine guns to submarines!!!! I am thinking of getting it, but I am not sure if my computer's graphics card is up to it. :(

Diogenes of Sinope was sitting beside the barrel which was his only other possesion besides his cloak, stick, and bread bag, and was enjoying the sight of the setting sun. He was visited by Alexander the Great, and the emperor stood before him and asked if there was anything he could do for him. Was there anything he desired? "Yes," Diogenes replied. "Stand to one side. You're blocking my sun."

That was an excerpt from Sophie's World, a book which I have just finished reading yesterday. It's about a girl from Norway soon to turn 15 who has been receiving a correspondence about the History of Philosophy from a mysterious figure. As Sophie embarks on her journey of discovery about man( and woman) and his( and her) psyche, she learns a frightening truth about her existence, about her reality.
It's a real pain to read it, as it's kinda like a philosophy textbook. Even though the content is rather simplified, you either have to be remarkably patient or have an interest in Philosophy, as the topics discussed are quite abstract and hypothetical. But nonetheless, I am glad that I read Sophie's World.
Oh my gosh, that looked just like a book review. *argh*

yesterday was action-packed. First I headed over to Pasir ris park to play soccer with prakash, max, hafiz, salman, lukas and dwayne.Me prakash and max waited for one hour at pasir ris MRT for Lukas. We had a friendly match with a group of guys from St. Patrick's school. We soon found out that most were in the school soccer team. Inevitably, we lost. But we kept our dignity. :D After that headed over to my cousin's house a 5 minute walk away from the park to celebrate his birthday. Had a fun time chatting and joking with my cousins. Later we went down to play soccer. Again. I was kinda tired out a little, so i played conservatively. managed to score one goal towards the end though. =D As the night wore on, the dirty jokes were unleashed, and boy was it fun. It was so funny seeing some of my uncles getting tipsy and acting like cheeky schoolboys. =D Finally, we went home.
For the second consecutive day, I slept at 4 am.
Results coming out tmr!!! Die!
